*Blessed Mary Pages
The Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to this world to give us a warning. Her words, during her apparition in La Salette are striking and imposing: “If My people will not submit themselves to God, I will be forced to let go of the Hand of My Son”. The Blessed Virgin points here to the end of time. Her dejected manner, the flood of tears and the words of her are the expression of her concern and affection for the people: “never will you be able to repay me for what I have done for you”. The Blessed Virgin Mary asks for many prayers; to save the earth. She asks for conversion, prayer and penance. She points to the grace the rosary brings and she asks and pleads: “reconcile with God”. She says: “I want that everybody be saved, the good as well as the bad. I am the Mother of Love, the Mother of all; you are all my children. Therefore, I wish you all to be saved. This is the reason that I am inviting the entire world to prayer.

*The Divine Mercy Chaplet
The message of The Divine Mercy is simple. It is that God loves us — all of us. And, he wants us to recognize that His mercy is greater than our sins, so that we will call upon Him with trust, receive His mercy, and let it flow through us to others. Thus, all will come to share His joy.

Catechism of the Catholic Church
On the publication of the Catechism of the Catholic Church Prepared following the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council John Paul, Bishop Servant of the servants of God For Everlasting Memory To my Venerable Brothers the Cardinals, Patriarchs, Archbishops, Bishops, Priests, Deacons and to all the People of God. GUARDING THE DEPOSIT OF FAITH IS THE MISSION WHICH THE LORD ENTRUSTED TO HIS CHURCH, and which she fulfils in every age. The Second Vatican Ecumenical Council, which was opened 30 years ago by my predecessor Pope John XXIII, of happy memory, had as its intention and purpose to highlight the Church's apostolic and pastoral mission, and by making the truth of the Gospel shine forth to lead all people to seek and receive Christ's love which surpasses all knowledge (cf. Eph 3:19).

How to Pray the Rosary
The Rosary is divided into five decades. Each decade represents a mystery or event in the life of Jesus. There are four sets of "Mysteries of the Rosary" (Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful, and Glorious). These four "Mysteries of the Rosary" therefore contain, a total of twenty mysteries. The Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful, and Glorious Mysteries are then said on specific days of the week (see each set of mysteries below). During private recitation of the Rosary, each decade requires devout meditation on a specific mystery. Public recitation of the Rosary (two or more people), requires a leader to announce each of the mysteries before the decade, and start each prayer.

The New American Bible
The first English Catholic version of the Bible, the Douay-Rheims (1582-1609/10), and its revision by Bishop Challoner (1750) were based on the Latin Vulgate. In view of the relative certainties more recently attained by textual and higher criticism, it has become increasingly desirable that contemporary translations of the sacred books into English be prepared in which due reverence for the text and strict observance of the rules of criticism would be combined. The New American Bible has accomplished this in response to the need of the church in America today. It is the achievement of some fifty biblical scholars, the greater number of whom, though not all, are Catholics. In particular, the editors-in-chief have devoted twenty-five years to this work. The collaboration of scholars who are not Catholic fulfills the directive of the Second Vatican Council, not only that "correct translations be made into different languages especially from the original texts of the sacred books," but that, "with the approval of the church authority, these translations be produced in cooperation with separated brothers" so that "all Christians may be able to use them."

What Do Catholics Believe
If you are Catholic, this is post-Vatican II wrap-up and short catechism, and an invitation to deeper faith. If you are a no-longer-practicing Catholic, this is an invitation to take a fresh look at your old family. If you come from a different religious tradition, we welcome you to this overview of what Catholics stand for. If you have no religion, we hope this will be a new opening to God.
